Itabashi fireworks festival will be on 02-Aug-2025. As other web sites state, the fireworks festival must be extremely impressive. However Toei Mita line will be unbelievably crowded after 4:00pm and right after the fireworks festival ends.
Crowded forecast (Before the festival)
Based on the previous experience, the crowded forecast is as follows.
- Before 4:00 pm: No problem
- Before 4:30 pm: Crowded
- Before 5:00 pm: Super crowded
- Before 5:30 pm: Super extremely crowded
- Before 6:00 pm: Super extremely crowded
- Before 6:30 pm: Super extremely crowded
- Before 7:00 pm: Super crowded
Note: The forecast shows how crowded the trains which will arrive at Takashimadaira station at each time above.
Note: Super extremely crowded means it is so crowded that even adult men have difficulty breathing in the train. It’s almost impossible for kids.
Recommendation:
1. Come to Takashimadaira or Nishidai station before 4:00
2. Go to super market or convenience store around the station or in the middle of the revenue of the fireworks
3. Find your place in the river bank if you do not have a reserved seat
4. Enjoy your snacks, drinks until the fireworks start

- Before 9:00 pm: Super extremely crowded
- Before 9:30 pm: Super crowded
- Before 10:00 pm: Crowded
- Before 10:30 pm: Crowded ~ no problem
- After 11:00 pm: No problem

Recommendation:
Visit and stay at an IZAKAYA (Japanese style Bar & restaurants) around Takashimadaira, Nishidai or Hasune station until 10:30pm. They are not a big town but there are many Izakaya. If possible, make a reservation for the Izakaya. If you can not make a reservation, try to visit some Izakaya and ask if you can enter.
Note: There is a few Izakaya or restaunrants around Shin-Takashimadaira or Nishi-Takashimadaira.
Items you need to bring
The items below are must items only.
- Insect repellent spray
- You will see the fireworks from river bank. There are some bugs.
- Picnic sheet
- You need to keep the place you find and you will be seated on the sheet.
- Heatstroke preventing items
- The place will be very hot and humid. Bring something which makes you feel cold.
- Cash
- There are some street food stall/ stand. They cannot accept credit card.
- There will be long line to wait the food for each stall/ stand.
